BYRNE RECIEVES NOMINATION FOR YOUNG DRIVER OF THE YEAR

Ballinaboola native Jack Byrne has received a nomination for the 2022 Sexton Trophy Young Racing Driver of the Year Award. This is the second consecutive year Byrne has received a nomination with last year seeing him make it down to the final four. This years process sees seven of Irelands most promising young talents receive a nomination with all seven having an interview in Dawson Street on Monday the 14th of November.

Jacks nomination comes as no surprise after his astonishing year in the MINI CHALLENGE UK Trophy which saw him take three fastest laps, three overall podiums and winning 19 out of 20 Rookie championship races. He finished the season as Rookie champion and 5th in the overall standings on his debut in both the MINI CHALLENGE and the UK.

"I am delighted to have received a nomination for the Sexton Trophy this year! This is the second time I have got the opportunity and I think it's a really good chance for me to prove myself in front of the judging panel and hopefully add my name to the Sexton Trophy. I have had a phenomenal debut in the UK this season and I think I am in with as good a chance as anyone going into the interview on Monday. Previous winners of the Sexton Trophy have gone on to have very successful careers in motorsport and I would be honoured to join that list."
